Help & FAQ

Answers to common questions about getting around TrestleBoard.

What is TrestleBoard?

TrestleBoard is a social platform for Freemasons and appendant bodies — a feed, messaging, events, groups, a marketplace, and a member directory, all organized around your lodge and the other bodies you belong to.

What are the sister sites (Point, Family, Business)?

TrestleBoard has three companion sites on their own subdomains. TrestleBoard Point (point.trestleboard) is for Eastern Star, Job's Daughters, and Rainbow Girls. TrestleBoard Family (family.trestleboard) is for spouses, sons, and daughters of members who aren't themselves Masons or Star members. TrestleBoard Business (business.trestleboard) is where businesses advertise to the fraternity. Which sites you can see is based on your memberships — you don't need to sign up separately for each one.

How do I join a lodge or another body?

Go to Directory, find your lodge, chapter, or other body, and click "Request to Join." A secretary or admin of that body reviews and approves your request.

How do I post to the feed?

From the Feed page, use the box at the top to write a post, optionally attach photos, and choose whether it's public or visible only to a specific body you belong to.

How do I message another member?

Visit their profile from Members or Directory and use the message button, or open Messages from the envelope icon in the top nav to see your existing conversations.

How do I create or RSVP to an event?

Open Events from the top nav. "New Event" lets you schedule one for a body or group you help run; any event you can see has an RSVP button.

How do I join or start a Group?

Groups work like smaller communities inside TrestleBoard — browse them from the Groups link, or create your own for a committee, club, or interest.

How does the Marketplace work?

Members can list regalia, books, and other items for sale to other members. TrestleBoard doesn't process payments — buyers and sellers arrange that directly.

What is Passport?

Passport tracks badges for degrees, offices, and milestones you've earned. Site admins with the Passport permission award them.

How do I donate to a cause?

The Donate page lists causes admins have added. Clicking one sends you to that cause's own real donation page — TrestleBoard never handles the payment itself.

Where do I find training courses?

Training (LMS) lists courses and quizzes assigned to your body or open to everyone. Your progress is saved as you go.

How do I contact my lodge's Secretary or Master?

On your lodge's public page, look for the "Contact the officers" card — it has direct email and call buttons if your lodge admin has added them.

How do I report a problem or a post?

Use the report link under any post, comment, listing, or profile. Reports go to site admins with Moderation permission, who can hide content or take disciplinary action.
